We chose black and white hexagonal tile for the floor in keeping with the original style of the home. The toilet is at the other end of the room (not a very interesting picture so we are leaving that out). On the walls (sorry this room is so tiny it is impossible to get pictures) we added two vintage baskets (also from Perch Decor).

Here we added a vintage pot from Perch Decor Instead of a small square the powder room became more of a rectangle so the tiny space became more usable.Īgain I always like to add something vintage to give a modern space character. Once we made better use of the existing space, we were able to squeeze in a small entry and place the powder bath off that. It never hurts to add something vintage to add character to a more modern space.ĭog food storage (also from Amazon) fits perfectly in drawers to hide unsightly storage containers.īy using inexpensive storage elsewhere the couple was able to save their pennies for a much needed blind storage unit for the corner. Inexpensive clever storage (from Amazon linked below) saved dollars on built-ins. The walls are painted Benjamin Moore Simply White, the cabinets Pitch Black. The window was removed and a wall was added allowing the stackable front loading washer and dryer to be tucked into the corner. When needed they can reach the high cupboards. It folds flat and leans against the wall. The couple purchased this clever functional and attractive ladder (on Amazon). The three small pantry closets were removed and replaced with new cabinets built by Shoreline Woodworks. Unfortunately we failed to take before pictures of the powder bath.

There was a teeny weeny powder bath attached that you could barely turn around in. It was long and narrow and entered directly by the side door. The laundry room before was actually larger but not nearly as functional. Check out how this young couple used clever storage ideas for a small stylish laundry room with the help of Hattersley Construction and Cindy Hattersley Design. We wanted the laundry powder room area to look modern and fresh but still honor the heritage of the home. This lovely home was built in 1938 but is owned by a young couple. Thanks to the owner’s clever storage ideas and making the most of the space they had available. With a little creativity you can create a space for everything you need. If your home doesn’t have an expansive laundry room with all the bells and whistles no need to worry.
